Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can four foods and their nearby cooking air be followed together?
Yes. Four supplied probes each have internal and ambient sensors, so this same kit can follow four foods plus their local chamber readings. Each food still needs to accommodate the required insertion.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I choose targets on the base instead of watching a phone?
Yes. The included 3.5-inch base supports local cooking control and manual-mode target alerts. A phone adds a separate viewing route; it does not replace the need to identify the probes correctly.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the included four-probe system provide internet viewing away from home?
Yes, with the base on supported 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and the Typhur app configured. The probe-to-base connection must remain working; internet access does not repair a lost local radio link.
Explore this need in the finder →The Typhur Sync Gold Quad WT04 is a practical candidate for a cook managing several substantial foods at once: four supplied cable-free probes, four nearby ambient readings and a large local display belong to the same included kit. Its value depends on actually needing those simultaneous positions. More sensors add preparation, identification and cleaning work, and they do not make an unsuitable thin food easier to probe correctly.
Start with the foods you really need to follow
A mixed gathering can produce a genuine four-channel problem: two large cuts, a smaller roast and a portion that needs its own finishing target. The Gold Quad lets each food keep its own probe while you watch them together. That is different from checking four items sequentially with a handheld thermometer or moving one monitor between foods.
Each supplied probe contains five internal sensors and an ambient sensor. Four probes therefore support four simultaneous food measurements, with chamber information near each exposed handle. They do not support twenty separate foods. Nor does the ambient reading describe every corner of a large smoker. Think of it as local context for the food's position, especially when the appliance's built-in gauge measures somewhere else.
The display base is useful during a busy meal
The US Gold Quad page lists a 3.5-inch color display and local target setting. That can reduce the need to pick up a phone while handling food. It also puts responsibility on you to keep probe identities clear. Assign the probes before starting, confirm which reading belongs to which item and resist swapping them halfway through without updating your plan.
The base is included, together with four probes and a USB-C cable. It charges the probes and supplies the supported Bluetooth/Wi-Fi app bridge. There is no need to assume a second phone has been bought as a gateway. For internet viewing, the base requires its supported 2.4GHz network connection and a working radio path to the probes; the phone also needs its own connection.
Longer radio claims do not remove placement decisions
Typhur's Sub-1G probe link is advertised at up to 3,000 feet in open space and 700 feet in a closed-space condition. Those claims describe particular conditions, not an assurance that every smoker, wall and outdoor corner will behave alike. Find a base position that works with your cooker before planning to monitor from another room.
The US-version Gold Quad manual supports app messages over Bluetooth but warns that they may not arrive instantly, and recommends Wi-Fi. Treat loss-of-connection or low-battery indications as things to resolve, rather than continuing to trust a number that may no longer be updating. An internet route still depends on the local equipment doing its job.
Protect the internal sensors with the food
The specified internal-food range is 32–221°F. The exposed ambient sensor has a separate 32–932°F range. Insert beyond the safety line so the internal sensors remain inside the food, without burying the ceramic handle. That requirement can rule out a small portion even when you have spare channels available.
The higher ambient rating does not apply to the charging base or authorize exceeding the probe's specified conditions. The manual excludes microwaves and pressure cookers, warns against exposure above 932°F for two minutes and tells you to keep the base away from hot surfaces. Plan how you will remove the hot probes safely. A four-probe kit can create four hot objects to identify and put down after cooking.
Use alerts as information, with an actual target
Manual mode provides an alert at a selected temperature. Smart mode predicts when to remove food and follows its resting progression. The prediction can be helpful for scheduling, but a temperature curve cannot tell whether you inserted the probe into an unintended pocket or whether another unmeasured part needs checking. Choose the target for the actual food using appropriate guidance, and use additional checks when they are needed.
Cleaning is another reason to buy only the channels you will use. The maker permits dishwasher cleaning of the probes, while the base must remain outside the dishwasher and water. Cool the probes first and protect the charging contacts. Both probes and base contain non-replaceable rechargeable batteries, so prepare and charge the complete kit before a long cook.
Choose four channels deliberately
If two simultaneous foods cover your usual meals, the Gold Dual is the more focused configuration to compare. If most of your work is checking many small pieces in turn, consider the InstaProbe Core. Gold Quad earns its place when several properly inserted food probes and flexible viewing genuinely simplify the same cook.
Compare complete four-food monitoring setups with chamber readings and internet alerts, then add the heat limit your cooking arrangement actually requires.

|---|---|
| Included food probes | 4 |
| Fahrenheit display | Yes |
| Celsius display | Yes |
| Dishwasher-safe food probe | Yes |
| Measuring without batteries or charging | No |
| Documented food range minimum | 32°F |
| Documented food range maximum | 221°F |
| Whole probe surrounding-heat maximum | 932°F |
| Manufacturer accuracy claim | The maker states internal accuracy of ±0.5°F. Each of four probes contains five internal sensors and one ambient sensor. An included certificate does not establish user adjustment or independent testing. |
| Power arrangement | Four rechargeable probes, a rechargeable base and a USB-C cable are included. The manual specifies a minimum 5 V, 1400 mA USB supply and non-replaceable batteries. A mains adapter is not listed as included; prepare the base and each probe before cooking. |
| Care notes | The current maker page permits dishwasher cleaning of the cooled probes. The base is not waterproof and must not be immersed or put in the dishwasher. Follow the manual's exclusions for prolonged immersion and specified alcohol, ammonium, benzene and abrasive cleaners. |
